A qualified Accountant to assist the Financial Director to work on a flexible part-time basis. 

Duties will include but are not limited to:
  • General accounting duties including accounts payable and receivables, reconciliation and controls;
  • Enforcing financial rules and regulations together with defined codes of practice;
  • Preparation of management accounts and providing assistance in preparing budgets;
  • Prepare reports as required and to compile and submit returns including VAT returns:
  • Liaising with other Departments and Managers as necessary;
  • Liaising with external Organisations and Authorities including Company Auditors;
  • Liaising as necessary with the auditors during the audit of accounts;
  • Analyse all accounting records and ensure financial data is reliable and gives a true and fair view of the financial position;
  • Assist the Finance Director with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department;
  • Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliation including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit cost, accruals and prepaid expenses.
  • Analyse monthly budget/forecast to actual and issue variance reports for discussion with the Finance Director.

Requirements
  • The ideal candidate for the role should:
  • Possess a recognised Accounting Qualification 
  • Be trustworthy and polite
  • Be fluent in both verbal and written Maltese and English.
  • Be computer literate and proficient in the use of MS Office applications;
  • Be organised, efficient and meticulous;
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Possess a positive can do attitude, enthusiasm and an ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
  • Possess a minimum of two years’ experience

Qualifications

Required

  • or Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours)

  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise work
  • Ability to work systematically with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management skills able to prioritize and execute tasks effeciently coupled with an ability to work systematically and accurately in a fast-paced enviroment.
  • Fluent both in English and Maltese
  • Computer literate
  • Trustworthy and hardworking individual
